Treatment Specialties
I work with adults and adolescents aged 13 years and older with a broad range of issues, including grief, family, marriage concerns, and much more.
Following are my areas of specialty. Please call or email me with any questions.
Trauma
I will work with you to understand your traumatic experience in a gentle, supportive, and nurturing manner. I will help you understand your emotional, psychological, and physical responses to trauma symptoms, and I will teach you dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to manage these symptoms. I will also work with you to process your traumatic experience.
In addition to DBT, I now offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as a treatment modality for trauma, anxiety, addiction, and other related concerns. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps clients process distressing memories, reduce emotional distress, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. This treatment can be particularly beneficial for those struggling with PTSD, phobias, self-esteem issues, and other challenges. If you’re interested in learning more about EMDR or exploring whether it’s the right fit for you, feel free to reach out.
Trauma with substance abuse/addiction
If you have experienced trauma and also struggle with substance abuse, I can help. Research and evidence show that people use substances to self-medicate in search of relief from trauma symptoms. I will use the Seeking Safety model, a treatment approach that addresses both post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse to help you manage these co-occurring problems.
Domestic violence
Domestic abuse often involves one or more of these types of abuse:
· physical
· sexual
· verbal
· psychological
If you are experiencing any of these types of abuse, I will work with you at your pace and with your safety and comfort level. I will help you determine what you want to do and how to do it. Your safety and self-determination are of the utmost importance.
Depression and anxiety
Depression and anxiety are very common and, fortunately, treatable! I can work with you to identify your areas of concerns and teach you ways to treat and manage these problems.

"Without struggle, there is no progress."
